Summer has arrived with its obvious intensity and is knocking at our doors. It is daring us to come and test its effect on us. While most of us are staying indoors, fortified well against the summer heat, it continues to play its role sabotaging all the efforts we put making ourselves look and feel refreshed and nourished.

The drying, dehydrating and oil-inducing effects of summer months can be tackled and dealt with a faith in ingredients that are the most appropriate for this weather.

Excited to bring forth a list of the most refreshing summer ingredients, we’ve come to promise you that this summer, you and us along with these ingredients are going to continue shining our very best:

Vitamin C

Celebrated for its recent grace in helping our immune system, Vitamin C is the king and queen of skincare. It is known to make skin soft, nourished and supple to help you have a beautiful and natural glow. As we’ve often emphasized upon, Vitamin C dons its role as one of the most sought after ingredients that can reduce hyperpigmentation and dark marks. When blended with hydrating ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid in our sheet Mask and face rum, Vitamin C proves to be working in great defense against external factors like UV and sun damage that can cause skin ageing and appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has been part of many skin care formulations for its ability to enhance skin texture, add radiance, prevent UV and sun damage and improve skin’s natural ability to protect itself from external factors like sun, pollution, and grime. Want to test its benefit for your summer skin? Try our De-Tan Face Serum, Caffeine Face Mask or Anti-Acne Gel.

Hyaluronic Acid

One of our favourite ingredients, Hyaluronic Acid is naturally present in our skin, offering it hydration and elasticity. With age and the constant bombardment of external stressors, skin loses the presence of this natural nutrient. Topically supplying your skin with products enriched with Hyaluronic Acid can hydrate parched skin, retain moisture and improve the skin’s own water retention properties. If that wasn’t enough, Hyaluronic Acid outdoes itself by also being an important addition in hair care products. It hydrates each hair strand and improves its elasticity, making your hair as a whole feel and appear healthier, lusher and stronger.

Sandalwood

An intrinsic pat of Indian culture and a celebrated ingredient in Ayurveda, Sandalwood is a cooling, comforting, and protecting ingredient that can help make your skin supple. It offers your skin the right amount of absorption and ensures a refreshing balance with each use. It prevents acne and pimples, leaves skin feeling refreshed, and absorbs excess oil. A natural healer, it is effective in reducing the effects of sunburn, tanning or eczema.

Aloe Vera

With bio active compounds, Aloe Vera gel contains Vitamin A, B, C, D and E known for their soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It tops your skin and scalp with a pleasant hydration and the cool sap that is intrinsic to its nature offers a calming effect. Moreover, Aloe Vera has been known to prevent acne and eczema. It soothes and hydrates your parched summer skin and scalp and can be tried with our Caffeine Face Scrub or De-Tan Face Gel.

Cucumber

Topped with nutrients like Vitamin A, B1, C, biotins and potassium, cucumber is 96% water. Naturally, it is one of the most refreshing and hydrating ingredients that is going to help your skin and scalp feel soft and drunk on revitalizing goodness. A well hydrated scalp can help you feel itch-free and relaxed to grow the healthiest hair. Similarly, skin topped with cucumber’s hydration can have improved texture and elasticity.

Multani mitti

A nudge of all the grandmothers, Multani Mitti or Fuller’s earth is an oil absorbing natural ingredient effective against acne or oil build up. An important part of our Skin Brightening Cream, it speeds up healing process of your skin.

Mint

Finding itself in the cooling summer beverages, the mint of a refreshing Lemonana has cooling and soothing properties for your skin. It helps your skin feel fresh. It prevents facial acne, improves skin elasticity, tones your skin and can be an effective cleanser against summer induced oily scalp.
