A few tips to make you enjoy this colourful festival.
Fun-filled and vibrant, that is what Holi is.
Celebrated by playing with colours, dancing to music and feasting on traditional delicacies, what more can one expect to make this colourful festival happy-go-lucky? However, the colours used during Holi can be harsh on the skin and hair, often causing damage.
Taking the necessary precautions to protect yourself from harmful effects is essential.
Here are some Pre-Holi skincare & haircare tips:
1. Protect the skin:
Apply moisturiser generously before stepping out to play Holi. Doing this will create a protective layer and prevent the colours from penetrating. You can apply our Daily Moisturising Cream and Oats Body Lotion for double protection. Also, don't forget to drench your nails in the moisturiser, as colours can stain them and take forever to take off.
2. Protect the hair:
You must have heard from your grandma or mother to apply oil before you step out to play with colours. Make sure to soak your scalp and hair in oil if you don't want your locks to bear the burnt of your Holi madness. You can use our Onion Seed Hair Oil to protect your crown. It will reduce breakage when you wash them post the celebration.
3. Protect yourself:
Wear clothes that cover most parts of your body. Long-sleeved shirts, full-length pants, and scarves can provide ample protection. You can wear glasses or sunglasses to protect your eyes. And always use organic colours made from natural ingredients like flowers, herbs, and fruits. Chemical-based colours can cause skin irritation and allergies.
Here are some Post-Holi skincare & haircare tips:
1. Gentle cleanse:
A quick shower right after playing with colours is a must. Use mild body and face wash and warm water to remove them gently from your skin. Avoid rubbing your skin harshly with a towel, as it can cause further damage. Use our Aloe Vera & Matcha Body Wash, Hydro Power Face Wash and Charcoal Shampoo to wipe out harsh colours.
2. Soothing touch:
Apply a calming and moisturising lotion or cream after a shower. Doing so will help restore the natural moisture balance of your skin and prevent dryness and flakiness. Our Blanc Body Lotion and Hydro Power Gel Cream are the perfect gentle moisturisers for your skin.
3. Stay hydrated:
Drink plenty of water and fluids to keep your body hydrated during Holi. It will not only keep your skin healthy but will also prevent dehydration and heatstroke. So carry a water bottle along with water balloons and guns.
