If you are sporting the fur in support of Movember or No-Shave November
, we salute you and give you valuable tips to look stylish in your new avatar! For others, spot your face-cut in this list, follow what we recommend and you won’t be disappointed.
A nice oval
You are blessed with the most common facial shape! A short circle beard or what is popularly called a French beard is perfect for you. Shape it in a closely trimmed circle by shaving with a good gel
and you can keep the hair light, if you don’t prefect a heavy patch.
Squares and rectangles
If square-face has been your nickname all along, worry not, we can help you! Grow a beard by keeping it shorter on the sides but fuller on the chin. This will add a little curve to your face and cut the sharp angles away. Rub in some beard oil or wax to keep your beard groomed.
If you have a nice rounded face, trim your beard short on the sides but let it grow longer at the bottom which will break the circular pattern. You can also go for an anchor beard (shaped like a ship’s anchor) that accentuates your features and goes very well on a round face.
Bony or angled
Don’t make the mistake of covering your face with thick fur. Instead, go for a handlebar. This very stylish ‘mooch’ will add weight to your face. Two ways to sport this are by letting the ends drop down ramrod straight or by giving the tips a good upward curl. Use a moustache wax to set it the way you like. You can ditch the beard unlike Ranveer for a cleaner look.
Oblong with a sharp chin
Sides full, bottom light should be your mantra. Fuller sides help cover the length of the cheek and shorter hair at the bottom cuts the chin. Growing your (head) hair to shoulder length will go perfectly with this beard.
