For dudes who have been going around life saying ‘there is more of me to love’, you don’t need to give excuses for your beer belly anymore. TMC is giving you few easy diet hacks to rid your heavy waist and some grooming tips to hide it till such time.
Good fat v/s bad fat
Eat up the good fats – avocados, nuts, fishes rich in omega 3s and such foods that satiate your fat cravings. Give the bad ones (deep fried, refined flour, red meats etc.) a miss.
Cut the salt and sugar
Only the excess ones that is. Eat regular homemade food. Simply cut out ready-to-eat meals, fast food takeaways and aerated drinks. Practice for a month.
Hitting the bottle
Instead of every other day, bring it down to once or twice a week. That too no beers, and homemade juices instead of aerated, sugary mixers. A plate of green salad is a good accompaniment compared to fried snacks.
The miracle drink
Very easy to follow. Just a glass of warm water, a spoon of lemon juice and honey each, as you wake up. On an empty stomach and an hour before the morning tea.
Dark colours were made for you. Black, charcoal, browns, midnight blue and similar shades will camouflage your heavy contours, giving a slimming illusion.
Give up your love for spandex, lycra and anything else that stretches like a snug elastic around your belly, for good. Avoid thick fabrics.
Skip baggy or buying a larger size shirt. You need a shirt that highlights your plus points without making you look bulky. If you can carry it, go for the twin layered look with a T shirt or a vest with a stylish open shirt or a smart jacket left open.
Always wear long sleeved shirts. Short sleeved shirts mean calling attention to your middle.
You are doing it all wrong if you are wearing horizontal stripes. Vertical stripes that are not very wide, are what you need. Pin stripes are best for you.
A turtleneck or a round neck jumper will make your midriff look more rotund. Go for front open cardigans. Get a tailored, well-fitted jacket that makes you look sharp.
A well tailored pair of trousers or chinos will master the slimming effect. You can knot a scarf casually that partly hides your tummy.
Man girdles do a good job of belly busting. Slim fits also work, as long as the buttons don’t look ready to pop open.
Keeping an upright posture at all times will give the illusion of your stomach being in line with your chest. Slouching will only add to your pot bellied look.
